Progress 8 Score
June 2016 will be the first year that Progress 8 takes effect.
Progress 8 aims to capture the progress a pupil makes from the end of Primary school (end of Key Stage 2/Year 6) to the end of Secondary school.
Attainment 8 measures the achievement of pupils across 8 qualifications, including GCSE’s.
A Progress 8 score is calculated for each pupil by comparing their Attainment 8 score with the average Attainment 8 score of all pupils nationally who had a similar starting point.
This score does not apply to our school since none of our pupils currently have attainment data for Key Stage 2 (since their attainment is well below nationally expected levels), they are therefore not included in the Progress measure.
