Year 7 Catch up Literacy and Numeracy Premium
YEAR 7 CATCH UP NUMERACY AND LITERACY PREMIUM 2017-18
Year 7 Catch Up Premium has been offered by the Government as a commitment to provide additional funding to schools. This is aimed at each Year 7 pupil who is functioning well below mainstream age related expectations in Maths and English.
All of our pupils meet the above criteria since they all have Severe or Profound Learning Disabilities and are largely working within the P levels.
This year there are 8 pupils who are eligible for the Year 7 Catch Up Premium.
One of these pupils has Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, five pupils have Severe Learning Disabilities and two pupils have Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
The total Funding received = £3,000
This funding will be used to provide specialist English and Maths resources/ equipment/support to enhance and support each pupil’s learning. This will largely be used to buy a number of IPads with a protective case. These will be used to support each pupil’s learning in English and Maths and will also aid some pupil’s with their communication skills through using a symbol software programmed called Proloquo.
It is hoped that the impact of this funding will be that all eight pupils will make good/ expected and exceeding progress in their termly Personalised Learning Programme targets in Communication & Literacy/Functional Literacy and Cognition /Functional Numeracy. And that they make good small step progress, through % progress within a P level, in English and Maths by the end of the academic year.
