Breaking the Mould.
FOSPS
Welcome from FOSPS!
Who are FOSPS?
At Sherwood Park our PTA is known as FOSPS (Friends of Sherwood Park School). FOSPS is committed to supporting the school to raise money and enrich the lives of students across both campuses.
FOSPS is a registered charity which allows us to broaden our fundraising further.
What do we do?
Over the course of the year we host many fundraising events which are family centred as well as events for staff and parents . This include discos, fairs, quiz nights and events in the local communities for our pupils families.
As a registered charity we can apply for specific large funding for example a bid to renovate the sensory room under our charity name meant that we raised £26,500 to update software and has had a massive impact upon the pupil’s’ learning. We also currently work with a professional fundraiser who is applying for bids for the new play area project.
How do we use the funds?
As well as applying for large bids as a charity we also use the funds we raise in other ways throughout the school year. These include:
- Christmas presents for each pupil
- Money to fund each class with a summer trip out
- Head 2 Head Theatre Pantomime
- We also receive bids from some classes towards specific equipment or events such as supporting the Choir to attend the ‘Voice in a Million’ concert at Wembley.
Join the committee
We always enjoy welcoming new members to FOSPS and hope that you would like to join us. If you join the committee you will be involved in helping to plan events and we ask that committee members volunteer to help at events (when they can). For many parents they enjoy the chance to help fundraise for the school as well as enjoy the friendships they build with other FOSPS members.
If you would like to know more about joining FOSPS please speak to your pupil’s teacher or reception.
