Breaking the Mould.

Family Liaison Support

At Sherwood Park School we believe that working closely with parents, carers and family members is the key to ensure our Learners achieve the best possible outcomes for their future. We continuously build a good dialogue with families through the home- school communication books, parent’s evenings, Annual Review meetings, weekly newsletter or individual telephone conversations and meetings. We always welcome parents and carers to contact the school to discuss any concerns with the class teacher, members of the class team or Senior Leadership Team.

At Sherwood Park School we offer support and work on issues that might impact on families and/ or their child’s wellbeing. We help with:

  • Sign-posting to services and outside agencies e.g. Health services, financial support services, charities, social care, parent support groups, leisure activities for young people.
  • Completing EHAT (Early Help Assessment Tool) or Short Break Review Forms.
  • Creating opportunities for parents, carers and other family members to meet through coffee mornings organised at the School on the third Thursday of each month.
  • Creating opportunities for siblings and young carers to meet and enjoy fun activities organised and led by the school staff.

At Sherwood Park School we aim for families to be involved and knowledgeable about the education offered at our School and invite them to participate in various learning activities organised throughout the year. Parents, relatives and friends are invited to events such as the Harvest and Citizenship Assemblies, Achievement Celebrations, Christmas Production, Carol Service and Sport Events.
